  • Minors must have recommendations from two physicians, and their legal guardians must sign consent.

Minors can also qualify for a medical marijuana card in Florida. The state has established that anyone under 18 must designate a caregiver to help them access medical marijuana. The caregiver must be over the age of 21 or either the minor’s parent or legal guardian. In Florida, additional requirements and restrictions for minor patients are:

  • Minors must have certifications from two doctors. The second doctor must agree with the statement of the first doctor.
  • Smokable forms of marijuana are prohibited except if the patient has a terminal condition and a doctor determines smoking is the most effective or the last option for the patient.
